Enrico Alfonso and SPAL together until 2024
S.P.A.L. announces that it has extended the sporting contract with goalkeeper Enrico Alfonso until June 30, 2024.
Born in Padua on May 4, 1988, Alfonso grew up in the youth sector of ChievoVerona before moving to Inter's Primavera team in the summer of 2007, with which he also made his first-team debut in the match against Reggina played at the "Meazza" and valid for the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia.
After experiences with Venezia and Pisa, he lived his first season as a protagonist in Modena in the 2010/2011 Serie B with 31 total appearances.
Later he also defended the goalposts of Cremonese, Vicenza and Pro Piacenza, but it was among the rosters of Cittadella that he found the greatest continuity. With the granata jersey he plays from 2015 to 2018, for a total of 113 appearances, winning a Lega Pro Championship and reaching the Serie B playoffs twice.
In 2018/2019 he moved to Brescia with whom he won the Serie B Championship and gained promotion to Serie A, where he played four matches in the following year.
After returning to Cremonese, in January 2021 he landed at SPAL with whom he collected 11 appearances in the second part of the 2021/2022 Serie B and as many in the current championship, proving decisive on several occasions with his saves.
