Primavera ready to take the field for playoff match against Ascoli
It will be the Centro Sportivo Picchio Village in Ascoli Piceno to host the quarterfinal playoff match between the bianconeri and SPAL Primavera.
Coach Vito Grieco's formation comes to this appointment after finishing its round on 61 points, together with Monza and Venezia, which earned fifth place by virtue of the avulse classification that rewarded the lagunari and brianzoli.
The biancazzurri arrive to the match against Ascoli after closing the championship with two victories, both 3-0, respectively at home of Parma and at the "G.B. Fabbri" against Vicenza. An absolutely positive journey so far that of the young Spallini, who have remained in the top five positions for the entire season, even threatening the supremacy of the leading Genoa on more than one occasion, and which is also confirmed by the numbers: the SPAL Primavera boasts, in fact, the second best defense, with only 23 goals conceded, and the sixth best attack with 51 goals scored.
Facing them they will find an Ascoli that finished the championship in second place in Group B, after a head-to-head match with Lazio that lasted throughout the second half of the season, and that has similar statistical data to the young spallini. The team led by coach Antonino Nosdeo ended the regular season on 59 points, two less than the biancazzurri, conceding 38 goals to opponents and putting 53 on goal.
These are the words of coach Vito Grieco on the eve of the match against the bianconeri: "The team is well and arrives at this appointment after having made an important championship, closed positively. Tomorrow we are expecting an inside or outside match against Ascoli, who were able to take second place in their group and have shown that they have a roster of valuable guys. We will have to be good at putting aside emotion, staying focused and clear-headed, because at this point of the season everything we have done so far is reset and the mental aspect makes the difference."
