SPAL - Perugia, coach Di Carlo's post-match conference

After the triple whistle, coach Mimmo Di Carlo reached the press room of the "Paolo Mazza" Stadium to comment on the match against Perugia.

"After the lead we got too low," the spallino coach began, "and it's a pity because the moment we got up our qualities also emerged. The advantage was supposed to give us some courage instead we went down, in midfield we were a bit static and we were not good on second balls, especially in the first half and the consequence is that we left the field to Perugia."

"Sorry about the second goal, because at that moment it cut us off a little bit. In the second half we reacted, we had chances and we didn't give up until the last minute and this is a positive aspect to build on. We are at the beginning of the championship, we met a good team and it is a match that must give us awareness: today Perugia was better on second balls and we will work on this aspect."

"The first game we did better, today in the midfield we struggled more leaving more space for the opponents who were more aggressive giving the impression that they had more leg than us. In the second half the game was more balanced, we kept more of the ball of the game and tried to take back the game."

"As we also told each other last week", concluded coach Di Carlo, "the path of growth has just begun and fortunately we have another match on Tuesday, in these few days we will analyze the mistakes made and try to improve as quickly as possible. Dalmonte hasn't played for a long time and needs some time to find his best form, with Bertini we turned the ball better to free up the flanks and create a few more chances. We all have to understand that this is Serie C, we need to be more compact and aggressive because then we will find more chances and goal balls. Today's defeat should be read as an opportunity to grow because SPAL has in its DNA the ability to do better."
