Ancona - SPAL, coach Di Carlo’s post-match statements

At the end of the challenge against Ancona, from the mixed zone of the "Del Conero" Stadium coach Mimmo Di Carlo commented on the draw against the "biancorossi" as follows.

"We expected more from the first half, to play better and lose fewer balls. This was not the case and this gave courage to Ancona causing us to disunite a bit, especially in the game. I didn't like the first half, but I appreciated the spirit of suffering because we never gave up despite the many mistakes we made."

"In the second half we adjusted the team a little bit, trying to be braver, stay higher, handle the ball better and run the ball faster. I didn't like the first half as a quality of play from the whole team, including myself, while in the second half we did our own thing to try to win the game."

"I take responsibility for the first half, because I thought we would play faster and lose a few less balls, thus having more chances to put Ancona in trouble; instead, our opponents started strong and we were too slow and compact. However, I want to congratulate the boys for never giving up despite the difficulties at the start of the game, because this for a team that has to save itself is an important message. We have two home games ahead of us that will be decisive and so we file this match and this draw, knowing full well that to win games you need to do much more."
