Andrea Dossena is the new coach of SPAL
S.P.A.L. announces that it has appointed Andrea Dossena as head coach of the first team. The new biancazzurro coach has signed a contract until June 30, 2026.
Born in 1981 and originally from Lodi, Dossena has a long career as a professional footballer behind him, which has seen him play a leading role both in Italy, where he reached 180 appearances in the top division, also winning an Italian Cup with Napoli team, and in England, making his debut in the Premier League and Champions League between the ranks of Liverpool.
Having ended his career as a footballer with more than 400 appearances in the professional ranks, including ten with the Italian senior national team, Dossena began his coaching career in 2019 on the bench of Crema in Serie D; two seasons later he became technical manager of Ravenna, also in the fourth division.
In July 2023 he was appointed coach of Renate, achieving, in his first year in the third division, the qualification to the playoffs. In the season just ended, he led Pro Vercelli, with whom he qualified again for the postseason playoffs.
Welcome to Ferrara coach Dossena!
