Coach Dossena and Rao's comments on SPAL-Ascoli
At the end of SPAL-Ascoli, Coach Dossena commented:
"We had good pressure in the first half, but we were slow in ball circulation. We were composed, united... the only shot on target was the goal we conceded. I really liked the desire to win the ball back from the opponent. We lacked clarity while in the second part we started a bit under par.
With the change in formation, I saw a team that never gives up. I told the boys that when you give your all, football rewards you: we came back and could have even won it. In certain aspects, we controlled the game, then we became a bit disjointed, but when we regrouped, we were the ones who wanted to win, we believed in it.
I had asked for a show of character and I saw the fans satisfied, even at the end with the chants towards the boys. It's okay like this, tomorrow we rest and on Sunday we return with the same enthusiasm seen today because we can achieve some great satisfactions. I'm sorry we couldn't give the fans the victory: we tried in every way, then we must also give credit to the opponent. I thank them, I can't wait to play in our stadium again, I hope the same goes for them too."
Rao, who scored the first goal of the comeback, then spoke to the press room microphones:
"Scoring under the "Curva Ovest" Stand was incredible, a beautiful emotion since my parents were behind our bench. The coach always pushes me to finish the action at the far post, in fact for the chance in the first half he was very angry. We work hard at the gym, we stress our bodies to be intense for 90 minutes. I'm maturing a lot, I feel the trust of my teammates and this helps me a lot."
