SPAL

Cookie Policy

The SPAL website - www.spalferrara.it (the “Website”) - uses cookies and/or other tracking and tracing technologies for the following purposes:

  • to allow the Website to function properly and provide relevant services;
  • to carry out aggregate statistical analysis useful to understand and improve the user's browsing experience.

The following information refers to both the use of "cookies" and other tracking tools that may be used. As a matter of convenience we will use the term "cookies" to refer to all different tracking technologies, unless otherwise stated.

Information about who we are, how we process personal data, how you can contact us, what your privacy rights are and how to exercise them can be found in our Privacy Policy  of which this Cooke Policy is an integral part.

Pursuant to Article 13 of the EU Regulation 2016/679 General Data Protection Regulation (the "GDPR") and Directive 58/2002 ss.mm.ii. (the "e-Privacy Directive"), S.P.A.L. S.r.l., as Data Controller ("SPAL"), provides the following information.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are text files that are sent from a web server (i.e. the computer where the website visited is "hosted") to the User's browser (Microsoft Edge, Mozzilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari, etc.) and stored in the fixed or mobile device (computer, smartphone, tablet) used for the User's web browsing. The cookie (but possibly also any other tracking tool) allows the Website to identify the User's device every time the User reconnects to the Website through that device, using the information stored.

By using cookies (or other tracking tools) it is possible for us to make the User's navigation within the Website easier, as well as to analyse his/her preferences and tastes by verifying navigation (profiling activity), and consequently to offer products and services that are more consistent with User's interests and expectations (e.g. by displaying advertisements in line with the User's preferences).

Cookies may be either "session cookies” (when they are only stored for the duration of the browsing session on the Website and are deleted when the browser is closed), or "persistent cookies” (when they are stored for a longer period of time, until they expire or are deleted by the User). Furthermore, cookies or other tracking tools can be either "first party" (when they are created and used only by the owner of the website that issued them and are not transferred to third parties) or "third party" (when they are issued and managed by parties other than SPAL).

2. What types of cookies (or tracking tools) does the Website use

Technical and/or necessary Cookies and tools

SPAL uses technical cookies to enable normal and efficient navigation and use of the Website.

Through their use, we make it easier for you to navigate around the Website, for example by remembering the information you provide when filling in forms on the Website.

These cookies can be either first-party or third-party cookies and do not require the User's prior express consent as they are strictly necessary to provide the service requested by the User of the Website.

Functional cookies

The purpose of some cookies is to facilitate the User's navigation within the Website and to make use of its contents - e.g. by remembering the data provided by the User when filling in forms on the Website (so-called user input cookies), to recognise the User after he/she has logged in to the Website (so-called authentication cookies) - to customise the Website interface on the basis of the preferences indicated by the User.

These cookies require the acquisition of the User's prior and express consent, when stored also after closing the browser; if, on the other hand, they are not stored and are “session” cookies, no consent is required.

Analytical cookies

Analytical - including third-party - cookies allow us to understand how the Website is used by the User (e.g. number of visitors, pages visited, time spent on the Website, etc.); no information about your identity or any personal data is collected using these cookies. The information is processed in aggregate and anonymous form through the use of partial IP obfuscation mechanisms. These cookies, in the presence of other security and minimisation measures, do not require User's prior and express consent.

Third-party cookies

The Website uses both so-called "first-party" cookies and tracking tools, i.e. those issued by SPAL and the Website, and so-called "third-party" cookies and tracking tools, i.e. tools that are issued and managed by parties other than SPAL.

In some cases, you may also find social buttons/widgets (social plug-ins) on the Website, i.e. special "buttons" depicting the icons of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram and Youtube. These buttons allow the User who is browsing the Website to reach and interact with a "click" directly with the social networks. (see point 6 for more information).

3. Your consent

By accessing the Website, the User will see a "banner" warning about cookies and other tracking tools that may be used.

The banner provides synthetic information to allow the User to understand which cookies are used and for which purposes; furthermore, by using the "SETTINGS" button the User can also check in detail which types of cookies and tracking tools are used.

The User can then freely choose whether and which cookies and other tracking tools to allow.

A list of the individual cookies and their characteristics can also be found at the end of this cookie policy.

The banner will only be displayed the first time you access the Website. Afterwards, using a technical cookie, we will store whether the User has given or withheld consent so that the User can directly access the pages of the Website without having to display the "banner" again. In certain specific cases (e.g. the deletion of cookies by the User or the need to update the User about significant changes in the cookies used or the way data is processed) SPAL may display the cookie warning "banner" again.

Please note that any consent given by the User can be withdrawn at any time by simply selecting the green lock icon in the bottom left-hand corner of all the screens on the Website. New choices made overwrite previous ones.

You can also use the green lock icon to obtain detailed information on individual cookies, which can also be found in the tables at the end of this cookie policy.

4. Deactivating/deleting cookies via the web browser

Cookies can be deactivated/activated or deleted at any time by using the settings on your web browser. Specifically, it is possible, in case of not wishing to receive cookies, to set one's browser in such a way that one is warned of the presence of a cookie and can thus decide whether to accept it or not. It is also possible to automatically reject all cookies by activating the appropriate option in the browser. The User can also delete specific cookies that have already been stored within the browser, or block the storage of cookies on their computer by specific websites, or block third-party cookies.

Each browser (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Safari, Opera, etc.) has its own cookie management methodology: in the settings or preferences panel it is possible to modify/manage cookie parameters and/or delete cookies.

For instructions on how to proceed you can consult the information in the User Manual of each browser (so-called Help Page), or click on the following links:

  • Edge
  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari
  • Opera.

The cookie preferences can also be managed on http://www.youronlinechoices.com.

5. Who will have access to the data

Data that have been collected through profiling cookies and other tracking tools will not be disclosed to the public and will be processed by specifically authorised and appointed persons within SPAL.

6. Transfer of data outside the European Union

Data collected through cookies and tracking tools used by the Website are not generally transferred abroad, as processing is carried out through suppliers using servers located in the European Union (or European Economic Area).
