Willams and Hassanaine join SPAL Women's Academy
Two important new additions for the Accademia SPAL Femminile, which is dominating its round in the Regional Campionato di Eccellenza, and wants to continue to grow in order to better face the second half of the season. With this in mind are the arrivals in the biancazzurro of the two new shoulder players Sophie Williams and Manar Hassanaine, who have already made a successful debut in the ranks of the women's first team.
Williams grew up in the Lincoln City soccer academy, a club with which she made her first-team debut in 2009. She later also wore the jerseys of Notts County Ladies, Sheffield Ladies, Nettleham Ladies and Barnsley Women.
"It is a fantastic opportunity to join such an ambitious club as the Accademia SPAL Femminile. I hope that my international experience," said the English soccer player, "can be useful to the team, where I have already been able to appreciate an important level and a very prepared technical staff."
Hassanaine, on the other hand, is a class of 2002 who grew up in the women's youth sector of Bologna FC and who, despite her young age, already boasts important experience, having been part of the first team of the rossoblù club.
"I am ready to wear a historical jersey like the biancazzurra," Hassanaine said, "and to give my all not only on the football level, but also on the human and personal level. I expect to achieve important goals together with my new teammates and to be able to contribute to the growth of the club's ambitious and challenging project."
With these words, women's sector executive Mattia Martini welcomed the two new players: "Williams is a player capable of covering multiple roles in the defensive department and her experience will be invaluable not only on the field, but also off the green rectangle for all her younger teammates. Hassanaine, at the expense of being just 20 years old, has already experienced important seasons both at the club level and at the national representative level among the ranks of Morocco's youth selections, and this will certainly raise the level of our team."
