Palermo - SPAL, coach Oddo's post-match conference

At the end of the match against Palermo, coach Massimo Oddo reached the press room of the "Barbera" Stadium to answer questions from the journalists present.

"Palermo started better than we did, - said the biancazzurro coach - they had the dominance of the field and ball possession despite not creating any particular chances and, in fact, the goals were accidental. In the second half then we did what we had to do, we were practically the entire second half in the opponent's half, scored a goal and tried to push until the end. Unfortunately, we did not manage to tie the match, also because Palermo remained compact but, in light of the whole ninety minutes I think we deserved the draw."

"There are still six points up for grabs and we will fight until the last second of the last day. Today I chose the players I considered to have more leg and more freshness because I knew that Palermo, playing with a clear mind, would start strong and I needed balance on the field and a lot of running both offensively and defensively and I think those who took the field from the start today played a good game in that sense. Quality is important but it has to be put into the group, otherwise it is not needed. I thought we needed a lot of running today, which is why I made certain choices from the first minute, so that we could take advantage of a little more quality in the course of the match with the teams stretching out, although we put this into practice little today."

"A coach always expects a player to be able to shift the balance," added Coach Oddo, "but the problem is that sometimes we fail to do things that at certain times are not needed. When, for example, we went to two forwards in attack the only thing to do was to put as many balls as possible in the middle of the penalty area. When I say that quality should be put at the service of the team I mean just that: I don't need superfluous dribbling to be done, but rather that a player with quality to create goal balls should do that and today it wasn't done."

"Now there are still two games left to play, we need to score six points against Parma and Pisa and we will try to do that by putting everything we have on the field."
