Juventus Next Gen - SPAL, the pre-match conference of coach Di Carlo

At the end of the morning training session, coach Mimmo Di Carlo presented the Juventus Next Gen - SPAL match in the pre-match press conference of Day 4 of the Serie C NOW 2023-2024 Championship.

"In recent days we have been working in particular on dynamism and continuity," said the biancazzurro coach, "and tomorrow's match will tell us whether we will have taken any steps forward. What I've been saying since day one is that we are SPAL and for this we must always put in a fighting spirit, courage and play. To achieve all this, however, it takes some time so we put the defeat against Perugia aside because in the coming weeks we have many games to play, knowing that continuity and attitude will make the difference."

"We are aware that we need to grow and improve, but the team always wants and needs to take the field to win the three points. With Perugia we failed to show our strengths and exposed our weaknesses, now we have to reverse this trend and we have to do it right away."

"The attitude you put on the field, regardless of the modules, always makes a difference and the mentality is built through training and games played, going from time to time to take care of the details. What matters is to have a pattern of play, an idea that, I repeat again, must always be supported by attitude and continuity."

"Games have to be played for the full 95 minutes, you cannot stop playing after a goal and if you are down you have to give your best to recover and try to overturn the result. You have to keep your self-confidence high, because we have a quality team that allows us to be in a position to recover from any disadvantage."

"The roster is made up of young and experienced players and we need to give everyone some time to understand what the mentality of SPAL should be: a mentality that needs to be improved from the point of view of attitude and fighting spirit in the match, without forgetting the game because it is the game that makes the difference. We will certainly make some changes tomorrow, we have a couple of players slightly affected and we are figuring out in these hours if we will be able to recover them."

"I have always maintained that the first five games would be the most difficult," concluded Coach Di Carlo, "because they are the ones that will lead us to reach an adequate physical and technical level. Having said that, I have great confidence in my team and I am sure that tomorrow whoever of my boys will take the field will give everything to achieve the result."
