Sestri Levante - SPAL, coach Di Carlo's post-match statement

At the end of the match against Sestri Levante, from the "Silvio Piola" Stadium in Vercelli coach Mimmo Di Carlo commented on the success against the rossoblù as follows.

"Today came a fundamental victory for the continuation of our championship, we all wanted to come here and play it openly. It was a good game and I also give my compliments to Sestri Levante, but above all I give my compliments to the whole SPAL team: during the week we worked a lot trying to improve the mechanisms in the offensive phase and on the side chains and not even doing it on purpose today we found ourselves again in numerical superiority, managing the situation better than we did against Arezzo. We bring home three points that are fundamental for the goal of salvation and that project us out of the playout zone for the first time, we are aware that we have not done anything yet, but we take this victory gladly."

"After the first few minutes we set ourselves up in midfield and on the side chains on both the right and left, turning the ball over well and building our chances. We didn't manage to finalize, but we have to keep playing like that because when you build twelve or thirteen goal chances in a game, something you pick up sooner or later. I am happy for Petrovic, who scored two goals, and for Maistro who as a midfielder with a conclusion from distance allowed us to tie the game. As I said SPAL had to come here to play the game and get the result: we played the game and bring home three points."

"What I saw today is called a team and I'm happy for those who played, those who took over and those who cheered from the bench, because if we want to get to the goal we can only do it all together. Compact, united, with a new mentality that we are trying to create, and the victories certainly build confidence within the team. We don't need to look too far back, we need to look ahead and look at ourselves: we have a path to finish and salvation to achieve, then we'll see what happens. Now we have to focus on Wednesday, because we go back to play in front of our fans, who unfortunately couldn't be here with us today, to try to collect the maximum stake against Torres as well."
